UPDATE: Devils TV is the newly branded live streaming provider for the Cardiff Devils. My role within the team hasn't changed, I am still a camera operator, I provide the slow motion angles as well as ice level shots for the stream. Myself and a colleague alternate our positions every game to ensure we both keep our skill sets fresh.
I started working with IcetimeTV at the start of the 2018/19 Ice Hockey Season as part of my work experience module for my undergraduate degree. I've always been an ice hockey fan which means working with the production team wasn't an opportunity I was going to turn down. Since joining the team many things have changed and my skill set has developed more than I could imagine.
When I joined the team I was allocated the role of interviewer, completing mid-week interviews. Two years on and I am a part time producer/director for the stream.
My responsibilities include making the major decisions for the stream, including camera angles and communicating constantly with the commentators, cameras and replays. My other role for the stream is to capture the game with the slow motion camera which is one of the main cameras for the stream itself.
Both of these roles have given me a broader skills set that I would receive in any other production company. Being given the ability to learn this skill in a live sport environment is something I appreciate and am grateful for. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to develop my skills in many different in the sports broadcasting area, this includes, camera operations, replay systems and sound testing.
Making people feel as though they're at the event is what I aim to do. Making them feel part of the community in which we create is everything I stand for.

During this pandemic the IcetimeTV crew and I thought of every way possible to keep entertaining people. We decided the best way to do so is through a video podcast. As we're a streaming service we decided to stick with the visual aspect, but to change our vocal output.
